American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Burbank is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Burbank is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The service was great, and the staff was friendly, but unfortunately the matcha was really disappointing. I even asked for vanilla to help with the flavor, and it still tasted very bad. I love matcha and was excited to try it, so this was a letdown. I hope the recipe or preparation can be improved because the service itself was excellent. But will never order matcha here again.

I was surprised that my bagel with cream cheese + tomato lettuce and onion was over eight bucks and then I saw they charged me $0.95 per item. Really? 95 cents for a single leaf of lettuce? They have those three things listed together on the menu so it seemed like they were included as one item for $0.95. I made sure to get an extra coffee refill to make up for it.

What they are charging for is getting ridiculous. They have a cutting fee, a spreading the cream cheese fee. I was told by their Manager Jackie. That they no longer give plates when you order a dozen. If you order a dozen you can only have 4 that have cheese or else there is an extra charge which all these charges are not on the menu. It is also not on the menu and that if you mix and match bagels there could be an up charge on the bagel dozen. Be careful of all the hidden charges. They are officially gouging the public.

Western Bagel in Burbank is a solid spot for a quick and tasty bite. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the food is consistently good. Orders come out quickly, which is perfect for busy mornings. I really enjoyed the bagels, theyβre fresh, warm, and satisfying. However, the place does feel a bit outdated and could definitely use a facelift to match the quality of the service and food.

Not that good. It's okay. Open hours are short. The staff is nice the manager was very rude. And asked my order of 2 bagels about 4 time's. I asked for one onion and one garlic bagel toasted w/ cream cheese. and still gave e me warm untoasted bagels w/ sour expired cream cheese. Last time I went it was just the staff and not the manager who is clearly only concerned about pumping out semi warm food and way too much sour cream cheese. Told her it was under toasted... didn't care, said she toasted it. Didn't even offer to make it right.. I came back a few minutes later and made it obvious I was taking pictures and waiting to talk to her. Once again She made no attempts to address Me. Or even acknowledge that I was standing wherever she was and raised my hand and said "Excuse me.... Excuse me!!..." Several times and raised my hand. Over priced, over rated...over do not recommend π
